This year we are heavily investing in a high quality Professional Development Programme for our lettings staff.  The team recently attended the second of five intensive courses which are being delivered via a partnership between Landlord Accreditation Scotland and the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland.

Following the introduction of the new Private Residential Tenancy Agreement, which came into force on 1 December 2017, the second course covered topics such as:

  • Understanding different types of tenancies
  • Understanding how to prepare a property to let
  • Marketing properties to let
  • Understanding the requirements for selecting a tenant and setting up a tenancy in Scotland

These courses, along with written assignments, will lead to our staff achieving a Level 3 Certificate in Letting and Managing Residential Property.  The qualification will enable them to perform their roles to a very high standard, develop their knowledge of key legislation and best practice and provide an excellent service for our landlords.

Achieving the qualification will also mean our key lettings staff will comply with the Scottish Governments’ new statutory Code of Practice for Letting Agents which came into force this year.  Premier Properties welcomes the Code of Practice which will drive up standards within the industry and result in a more professional approach to property letting in Scotland.
