There was more positive news at PPP this week as our lettings team broke through the 100 mark for ‘lets agreed’ across the Perth PH1 and PH2 postcode area for 2018 so far. The first lettings agent in the Perth area to do so. Ahead of our landlords open day on Saturday, the team have now agreed 105 lets in this area which compares to our nearest competitor on 67. According to independent data provided by Rightmove, the UK’s largest property portal, this represents a market share of almost 34% of the competitive Perth market and comes at a time when investors and landlords have seen the introduction of many changes in the lettings sector.
Murray Hall: “There have been so many changes to legislation and legal obligations for landlords over the last few years including some major ones this year. Letting agents now have to be fully registered and qualified, which is why we have invested heavily in our staff training and systems to make sure we are providing our landlords with the best advice in line with any up to date changes.”
Ashleigh Mcintosh: “The Rightmove data shows that our total of 105 is almost 50% higher than our nearest competitor and we believe one of the reasons for this is how we market our properties for rent. Our properties receive extensive exposure via a number of national property portals such as Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket and CityLets. These websites, as well as our own, allow potential tenants from across the UK to see our properties online and help us to secure quality tenants quicker, cutting down on void periods and minimising on loss of income.”
Hannah Mackay: ”We have over 3500 people following our Facebook page and this is something that we use for all of our properties for rent. It allows us to get our properties out in front of an active, local audience quickly which is very important as the majority of interest does come from local people. However, we don’t just rely on that or leave it to chance and use the large property portals also.”
Katie Hall: “Although our estate agency side of things has increased dramatically and is something we are incredibly passionate about, we will never forget our roots. The company was founded in 2009 as a lettings agency and will continue to make efforts to grow and improve our range of lettings services.”
Alan Keddie: “I am a landlord myself, as are other members of the team at PPP so we know just how important it is to make sure a rental property is marketed correctly, priced correctly and that all the various checks and legal obligations are adhered to. If anyone is thinking of becoming a landlord or is a landlord and unsure about what the new changes mean for them, we would be delighted to chat further.”
