RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS / COVID-19 – INFORMATION FOR TENANTS
Last Updated: 24th March 2020
We hope that you and your family are well. We understand that the coronavirus outbreak presents some challenges for us all. Please be assured that Premier Properties Perth is here to support you over the coming period whilst the UK deals with the situation.
If you have symptoms
It is important to let your housemates and any potential visitors to the property know if you are symptomatic/self-isolating. Please see the NHS website for guidance on what to do.
Office & Staff
In-line with current government advice, our office is now closed and our team members are working from home. Our software and technology platforms allow us to operate seamlessly from home and our usual contact telephone number and email addresses will remain in use. Our current working hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Paying Rent
If you are experiencing financial difficulty due to the coronavirus outbreak or are worried about paying your rent over the coming months, it is important that you contact us as soon as possible on 01738 442255. We will work with you to come up with a solution. The Scottish Government has called on all landlords not to evict a tenant because they have suffered hardship due to coronavirus.
Sources of Help & Assistance
Tenants affected by Coronavirus can claim Universal Credit from the Department for Work and Pensions which includes support for housing costs, if eligible. The UK Government has introduced some temporary changes to make this easier. Further information is available on their website: www.gov.uk/universal-credit
If you are receiving Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, but still can’t afford your rent, you may be eligible for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP). Further information here: www.mygov.scot/discretionary-housing-payment. You may also be able to get support through the Scottish Welfare Fund. Further information on how to apply is available here: www.mygov.scot/scottish-welfare-fund/crisis-grants
